This year, to help our team make a difference for the planet, we made donations to 1% For The Planet organizations in each of their names. Get to know some of the people on our team, the causes that are most important to them, and how you can get involved too.
CLIMATE NEUTRAL
"I'm donating to Climate Neutral because climate change is the most urgent issue in our generation. It's an issue that we need to tackle collectively – and as businesses it's our responsibility to ensure our customers don't have to bear the brunt of the burden. Climate Neutral is rallying businesses to come together to go carbon neutral, and it's a non-profit we're proud to be a part of."

GLACIER NATIONAL PARK CONSERVANCY
"In 2017 I did a climate ride through Glacier National Park, fundraising for climate organizations and national parks. During my time there, I fell in love with the park and got to share unforgettable moments with friends and family, from the scenic landscapes to one of the best stretches of cycling in the world. With National Park funding being cut, I'm supporting Glacier National Park Conservancy to enable others to share the same great national park experience and help support them in being a "Climate Friendly Park."

WORLD BICYCLE RELIEF
"In the US, bicycles are usually dismissed as either toys or displays of excess. But, in countries like Sudan, Sri Lanka, or Zambia, the ownership and use of a bicycle can boost the annual income of a family by more than 1/3. I think this has to be one of the best possible returns on investment and one of the most effective ways to help raise people out of poverty."

NATIONAL FOREST FOUNDATION
"Landscaping is a passion of mine and I've become increasingly interested in using native plants to help combat the effects of climate change. Although my garden is tiny, I like to think that it's a tiny haven for insects whose populations have been in decline. I'm donating to National Forest Foundation for a second year in a row because, in addition to providing clean air and a place for recreation, our forests are the home to so many insects and wildlife that play a major role in our global ecosystem. Through NFF, they will plant one native tree for every dollar donated. I could never fit that many trees in my own garden."

"Throughout 2019, I have been inspired by Thousand and our team to find ways to 'offset' our own carbon footprints. This led me to utilize the Metro system here in LA. Not only do I shave off some of my commute time, but also I offset my daily commute, talk about a win-win! The cool thing about Carbonfund.org is that it highlights how much is needed to contribute to offset the different aspects of one's life. With the help of Thousand's donation, I'm able to offset the equivalent of the carbon emissions of a family of 4!"
